After 4 months of hard work, I can finally go on a vacation here in the states. I'm going on a 21-day trip from New York to Los Angeles. For more info: http://www.trekamerica.com/tours/snw.html. I leave 27th of November and I come back in Pittsburgh the 19th of December.
For those of you who can count and want to be smartasses: yes that is longer then 21 days, I'm staying in NY for 1 night and I'm staying in LA for one night.

During this time I won't have my laptop with me and I'm probably to busy to look up any place to get internet, so you'll have to miss me until I get back. After that I'll be in Pittsburgh till the 30th and then back to the Netherlands.

Tiez: make sure you've got some nice cold beer for me when I get to Enschede in the new year! Those Americans definitely need a few more lessons in brewing beer...

Have fun mate! If you ever find time to get into an internet café or sth, tell us about your trip. Else, we'll have to wait till you come back.

You can count on the beer ^^, Grolsch it is!

Thanks!

Right now I'm in my hotel in Washington DC. Yesterday evening we've had a nightly tour around the eluminated monuments here, so I could play around with my camera to get decent pictures smile.gif

Today we've gone sight seeing in the city. I found out that the White House is actually pretty small.. They always try to make it a lot bigger in the movies... I've visited some of the museums here and seen a couple of the other sights as well. The sight from the Washington Monument was great!

In total I shot about 100 foto's I think, so I need to find some extra room on memory cards.. I'll try to get them online as soon as I get back to Pittsburgh.. We'll probably try to get the photo's from everyone online at the same place smile.gif

Luckily the whole group is above 21 y/o, so we won't have problems with alcohol smile.gif

Tomorrow we'll be going to Appaplagia mountains (or however you write that), so a I can try out the landscape settings of my camera there. biggrin.gif

Nice, didn't know you went with a group.

Maybe it's a bit late, but erm... I'M BACK!! for about a week now...

The trip was great, i've seen a couple of nice cities and some beautiful views in the National Parks. During the 21 days I was gone I've made quite a few pictures. This guy from the tour is going to set up an internet site for the pictures of everyone, so if you can wait a little bit longer, you can see all the pictures.

Here's a picture of the group:

From left to right: Jarno (ME!), Shan Hun (Korean), Harry (British), Jenny (our American tour leader), Richard (British), Michelle (Aussie), Gabby (British), Tim (British), Laura (British), Shin (Korean), Rosie (British), Rhys (British) and Nico (Dutch)

For those that want to know where I've been, here's an overview of the itinerary, including the distances we drove in the van:

The only place that you can't look up on the map is 'Cowboy Camp', that was about 50 miles north of of Phoenix.

If you have questions, feel free to ask them. I know some kept a diary from the trip, so I might be able to get a written report of it all whenever they finish it...

picture doesn't work
Jarin
pictures work fine for me...
JarnoG
fixed, and I decreased the size of the second picture a bit too... No need for a 2520px × 3776px picture....

Edit: Guess Jarin saw the fixed picture...

Funny how it is kind of obvious who are teh british and who are the dutch...and who are the korean of course...

Then again, I thought that after reading who was who, so might be kind of reversed psychology kind of thing.
JarnoG
... wow, you can tell who's from where after you read where they're from... tongue.gif

Anyway, if it wasn't from the looks, you could tell who was from where the moment they opened their mouth biggrin.gif (or the moment we walked into a gas station and there were suddenly 7 people waiting in line for the tea)
Tiezol
haha yeh

bottom line is, think it is funny how people all over the world (and even close by (British)) can be so different
